Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra have reportedly attacked the residence of police commissioner in Umuahia, the state capital of Abia state. Also, three members of the IPOB were allegedly shot dead by security officers in the state capital. He said the police had the help of the army in attacking IPOB members.  Going further, he alleged that the bodies of those shot dead could not be found, claiming another was injured by a gas canister.

The incident was said to have occurred on Akanu Ibiam road. The road is also known as Bank road. PAY

Meanwhile, Sources had reported that a video surfaced online of some armed southeast youths carrying out a stop and search operation in the southeast looking for Hausas in vehicles. In the video, the youths who carried knives, daggers and bottles could be seen stopping inter-state vehicles and speaking in Igbo

Tension Members of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, reportedly attacked the residence of Abia police commissioner in Umuahia, the state capital. Umuahia, Abia State capital was engulfed with tension with the shooting of three people on Akanu Ibiam Road also known as Bank Road. The incident happened at about 9:30 am this morning. An eye witness said they were shot close to the Diamond Bank near the Abia State Government House gate. He said two of the three died instantly while the third was fatally injured. He said soldiers took the corpse and the injured away in their truck. Those who were shot were said to be wearing black which the army took to be IPOB uniform. The incident sent panic to residents as shop owners quickly locked their shops. Most vehicles also had to pack leaving passengers stranded. Even banks had to close for business. At the First Bank on Akanu Ibiam road, customers were seen outside the bank premises. On inquiry one of the bank security said, ” we have closed for the day.” At the Afaraukwu, the home of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, panic-stricken residents have locked their shops and residential gates. The area looked deserted. Reports from Aba, the commercial center of the state, say that there was shooting in the city resulting in the death of many people. It was also reported that the Ariaria Police Station in Aba was raised down, a report the PPRO, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed.
